SWARTZ CREEK– Even a penny can make a difference, says U.S. Navy veteran Mike Hammond.
Tuesday, May 23, at Elms Road Elementary, Hammond received a testament to that statement in the form of a check for $1,187.
Hammond and U.S. Army veteran Dan McMahon accepted the donation on behalf of the Veterans Memorial in Swartz Creek.
